About The Role

We are currently seeking robust, caring, reliable and committed individuals to work in a supported living service. The role involves supporting a gentleman with learning disabilities and mental illness. This is to maintain his own tenancy and to continue to be involved in the community.

The job requires you to be emotionally and physically resilient to meet the demands of this role and you should be prepared to adapt to any unexpected challenges.

Full time - 7.5 hours shifts 5 days per week. Part Time hours also available.

A driving licence is essential.

About You

As a Support Worker you should have a calm demeanour and self confident approach but must be able to be completely impartial at the same time.

You will need to be confident in your own abilities, upbeat, but understand the importance of firm boundaries and why these must be followed.

Socialising is an important part of this role and you must be able to visit places such as auction mart and be happy to discuss technology and machinery such as buses for example.

Ideally you will have a good range of experience  in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and mental illness.

  • Self-motivated with energy and drive
  • Reliable, friendly and caring to support the people we support to achieve their everyday goals (including personal care)
    Able to support in house activities and hobbies
  • Confident and inspire the person we support to achieve more
  • Able to help manage some behaviours that may challenge the norm – we provide training and guidance to enable you to do this
  • Comfortable using basic IT systems that are required within the role - training can be offered to support this area
