About The Role

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a passionate, professionally talented, flexible, committed and experienced Service Leader to join our well established and expanding management team in Moray.

The Service Leader will manage a supported living service, ‘core and cluster’ model, for 8 people we currently support with complex care and support needs including learning disabilities, complex mental health concerns, physical disabilities and profound autism to live a fulfilling lifestyle of their choice whilst living independently in their own home in the local community.  

Knowledge and experience of working with this group using person centred planning techniques to deliver excellent support practices, including developing robust service designs, support strategies and risk assessments whilst managing individual budgets in a supported living setting are essential. As is previous experience of working in social care and in a supported living setting.

The Service Leader will lead and directly line manage a team of 35 frontline staff, including an Advanced Support Worker and report directly to the Regional Manager.  They will be responsible for ensuring the staff team is suitably trained, well supported and supervised, having the tools to carry out their role to the best of their ability. They will be responsible for the overall supervision, quality assurance, monitoring, regulatory requirements and day-to-day management therefore previous management experience working in a social care setting is essential, as is strong leadership and facilitation skills to encourage staff teams to take ownership and responsibility for the quality of care and support they deliver. 

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload whilst working under pressure is essential as are skills in change and performance management. You must have proven experience of being able to communicate effectively with the people we support, staff teams, families and external care professionals.  A good level of IT skills and flexibility to work on rota and provide an on-call service is also required. 

A full driving licence with access to your own vehicle for business use is essential. 

An SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and/or willingness to work towards this is also essential.

About You
  • Be a motivated, self-starter with supervisory or management experience in the Health and Social Care sector
  • Have, or be working towards, an SVQ 4 in Health and Social Care if they have not already obtained this or have an equivalent qualification.
  • Be required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of starting in post
  • Have a good understanding of relevant legislation i.e. GDPR, Health and Safety, Whistleblowing, Adult Support and Protection and apply this to practice
  • Be an excellent communicator who is able to manage and coach staff teams to develop.
  • Have experience of managing rotas.
